Enunciado del ejercicio nº 3

Determinar el cociente y el resto de la división de P(x) por Q(x).

a) P(x) = 10·x³ - 2·x² + x - 6; Q(x) = 5·x - 2

b) P(x) = x⁵ - 2·x³ + 3; Q(x) = 2·x³ + 1

c) P(x) = 2·x³ - x + 1; Q(x) = 2·x³ + x - 1

d) P(x) = ⅓·x; Q(x) = x⁴ + 1

Solución

El grado del polinomio dividendo tiene que ser mayor o igual al grado del polinomio divisor.

a)

P(x) = 10·x³ - 2·x² + x - 6; Q(x) = 5·x - 2

Ordenamos y completamos los polinomios:

C(x) = 2·x² + (2/5)·x + 9/25

R = -132/25

P(x) = Q(x)·C(x) + R

Expresamos el resultado:

P(x) = (5·x - 2)·(2·x² + ⅖·x + 9/25) - 132/25

b)

P(x) = x⁵ - 2·x³ + 3; Q(x) = 2·x³ + 1

Ordenamos y completamos los polinomios:

C(x) = ½·x² - 1

R = -½·x² + 4

P(x) = Q(x)·C(x) + R

Expresamos el resultado:

P(x) = (2·x³ + 1)·(½·x² - 1) - ½·x² + 4

c)

P(x) = 2·x³ - x + 1; Q(x) = 2·x³ + x - 1

Ordenamos y completamos los polinomios:

C(x) = 1

R = -2·x + 2

P(x) = Q(x)·C(x) + R

P(x) = 2·x³ + x - 1 - 2·x² + 2

Expresamos el resultado:

P(x) = 2·x³ - 2·x² + x + 1

d)

P(x) = ⅓·x; Q(x) = x⁴ + 1

P(x) no es divisible por Q(x).
